Dr. Grau is board certified by the American Board of Surgery (General Surgery). She is a fellowship-trained surgical oncologist. Her clinical interests focus on breast disease, melanoma, soft tissue sarcoma, and gastrointestinal malignancy.

Education:
Dr. Grau completed her M.D. degree with Maximum Distinction at Universidad Catolica de Chile, Santiago, Chile, in 1990.

Postdoctoral Training:
Following four years of resident training in General Surgery at Universidad Catolica de Chile, Dr. Grau began a second residency in General Surgery at the University of Arizona, Tucson Hospitals and completed that in 1999. During that time she also trained as a research fellow in Surgical Oncology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. After completing general surgical residency at the University of Arizona, she then completed a two-year fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.

Research:
Dr. Grau's research interests include basic and translational cancer studies with emphasis on the role of Transforming Growth Factor beta and Nuclear Factor kappa B in gastrointestinal and breast malignancies.
